Sometimes I look at you and and find myself at loss for words to describe how wonderful you are, When I think of you, immediately, a sea of words I cannot perfectly express with mere sentences rush through my mind. I don’t like you just for your obviously heavenly physical appearance or your face that never seems to age, or your hilarious laughter and child-like behavior, I am also ridiculously in-love with your every flaw. I know you might not read this whatsoever, but I want you to know we, sones, will always be here no matter what happens. We know that you guys can’t go on forever, at some point in time you have to stop and resume to your previous lives before being kpop stars, but we’ll always be here. Always.
To the world, you may be Kim Taeyeon, the National girl group’s leader, with all the responsibility and high expectations but to me , you are Kim Taeyeon, plain and simple. Kim Taeyeon the country kid from Jeonju who pursued her dream to sing and let the world hear her soulful voice, Kim Taeyeon the daughter, the sister, the friend, the dork. But Kim Taeyeon nonetheless, and I like all kinds of that Kim Taeyeon. Because whatever the world molded you to be, Taeyeon you have to be like this, be like that, I know deep inside, you are more than that.
You’ve been through a lot ever since the beginning, you’ve been physically exhausted from all the long hour practice and lack of sleep, emotionally exhausted from being away from home and all the dilemma with your relationships with the members, to other people but you’ve shown a lot of courage by facing all of those and I admire you even more knowing that you would probably choose to be a solitary person and deal with it yourself, but you didn’t. You acknowledged others help and concern for you.
Now you’re turning a year older and more wiser, but I hope you won’t change, and I promise you we won’t too. Keep on inspiring people from all over the world, Erika.
